The economic and fiscal environment is one of the most important factors for the development of enterprises in Europe. The creation of the European Monetary Union and the co-ordination of budgetary policy (Growth and Stability Pact) made it to an European policy issue, that is highly relevant for SMEs. Within this policy area, UEAPME deals with macro-economic policy, which means monetary policy, fiscal policy and wage developments. Furthermore, all issues related to economic growth and structural changes, taxation and the organisation of economic systems, like services of general interests, undeclared work and general questions of regulating an economy are also dealt with in this area.
