Revision of the IPPC Directive

The process related to the revision of Directive N° 96/61/EC on Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) was launched by DG Environment in the second half of 2006 and will finish in 2007 with a Commission’s Communication accompanied by a legislative proposal if appropriate.

Considering the high number of SMEs subject to the IPPC, UEAPME was invited to join the IPPC Review Advisory Group. This body has the task of assisting the Commission in the review process, in particular in order to ensure a consultation and a close dialogue with the Member States and other stakeholders during this process. UEAPME nominated Mr. Guenther GRASSL from its Austrian Member WKÖ as its expert in this group. Below is the list of the position papers presented by UEAPME on issues discussed so far.
