UEAPME held its first official bilateral meeting with the new SME Envoy Maive Rute in its offices on 21 June. Secretary General Hans-Werner Müller gave an overview and introduction of the organisation and outlined the main priorities for SMEs in the EU policy process.

At the meeting Ms Rute and her team stressed their desire to work as closely as possible with UEAPME to help address the concerns of SMEs. UEAPME has been asked to present the main legislative priorities, so that the SME Unit can focus their efforts over the coming term.
