A UEAPME delegation led by President Reckinger and Secretary General Müller took part in the Social Dialogue Summit celebrating the anniversary of 20 years of social dialogue. The Summit was convened by Commission President Barroso and was attended by the other European Social Partners, as well as former Commission President Jacques Delors, who convened the first European social dialogue in 1985 and other relevant Commissioners.
UEAPME President Paul Reckinger delivered a speech to the summit, recognising the success of European social dialogue, particularly since the inclusion of UEAPME six years ago, as Social Partner representing small and medium-sized enterprises. He outlined the need to adapt social dialogue to the current economic realities and to take the specific situation of SMEs more into account.
