Confartigianato was established in 1946, and represents 520.000 Artisans and small and medium sized enterprises. The Confartigianato structure is made up of 20 regional federations, 119 regional associations, 25 sector associations, 1,200 secondary centres, and 12,000 employees. Confartigianato's main activity at national and European level is to represent the Artisans sector at Parliament level, in terms of Government and other national or local bodies, as well as European institutions. Furthermore, it often co-operates with various public bodies and organisations in helping to solve economic, social and technical problems.
