AIM OF PROJECT :
The general long-term objective is to facilitate the integration of Central and Eastern European SMEs in the EU with a view to fully developing their job-creating potential.
The short term objectives are:
- Increasing the adaptation of CEEC SME associations to the "community aquis".
- Disseminating the expertise acquired by the national SME associations to other (sectoral) SME structures.
- Creating an efficient network of EU and CEEC SME associations.
- Developing or creating durable partnerships of EU and CEEC national SME associations.
- Start-up of services on the "Community acquis" within the different CEEC SME organisations in order to assist SMEs in their adaptation process.

ACTIVITIES TO BE UNDERTAKEN:
- 3 weeks internships per CEEC partner in a EU SME association.
- 2 months secondments of experts of EU-SME associations to CEEC partners.
- short involvement of external experts on specific matters.
- organisations of 4 national multiplier training sessions per CEEC partner on topics of the "community acquis" identified in the project (total ).
- development of on ten topics of the "community acquis" in the different languages of the CEE countries concerned.
- participation in the development of the on-line platform established under the SME-excellence project.

EXPECTED RESULTS (qualitative and quantitative)
- partnership between EU and CEEC SME associations will be strengthened.
- know-how about the "community acquis" will be introduced in the different CEEC partners.
- the expertise of the CEEC partners will be improved in the specific target areas, paving the way for a reinforcement of their position at national and European levels.
- the dissemination of the community acquis throughout the SME-community in the different CEECs.
- the contacts of sectoral and horizontal SME-structures will be extended leading to closer co-operation and co-ordination.
- the acceleration of the information flow, improvement of the quality of information available in the CEEC associations through the internet platform. This platform will also increase the overall understanding of the EU and CEEC project partners for the new media.
